New Delhi: Everything is not going well between India and Bangladesh since Sheikh Hasina's resignation and leaving the country. While India is constantly pressuring the interim government of Bangladesh on the issue of Hindus, the Mohammad Yunus government of Bangladesh has given air to many anti-India statements in recent days.

Bangladesh placed a new condition in front of India

Nobel Prize winner and head of Bangladesh's interim government Mohammad Yunus has laid down a condition for building good relations with India. Mohammad Yunus says that Bangladesh wants good relations with India on the basis of fairness and equality. In an address, Mohammad Yunus said that Bangladesh wants good relations with other neighboring countries including India. But these relations should be based on fairness and equality.

Mohammad Yunus took oath on August 8

On August 5, Sheikh Hasina left the country and the post of Prime Minister amid violence. After this, on August 8, Mohammad Yunus took oath as the head of the interim government. Yunus said that after assuming office, many foreign leaders including Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif congratulated him over the phone.

What did Yunus say on SAARC?

Mohammad Yunus said that the world should know Bangladesh as a respected democracy. This is what we want. He said that steps have been taken to revive the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) to increase regional cooperation. High level bilateral talks are also going on between India and Bangladesh on the issue of floods.

We want good relations with India

Mohammad Yunus says that India must give up the idea that Bangladesh will become another Afghanistan in the absence of Sheikh Hasina. We want good relations with India. But Sheikh Hasina's political comments on India are an unfriendly gesture. Sheikh Hasina should remain silent until the extradition request is made.
