News Topical, Digital Desk : The US-Iran ceasefire continues. Meanwhile, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has issued a warning to the US ahead of peace talks. Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf declared that reopening the Strait of Hormuz is impossible as long as the US blockade of Iranian ports continues.

The Iranian parliament speaker said any ceasefire between Tehran and Washington is meaningless unless the naval blockade and attempts to hold the global economy hostage are ended.

It is impossible to open the Strait of Hormuz.

"A complete ceasefire will only be meaningful if it is not violated by actions such as a naval blockade and holding the world economy hostage, and if attacks and war on all fronts are stopped. It is not possible to reopen the Strait of Hormuz with such blatant violations of the ceasefire," Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf wrote in a post on X.

The blockade will continue until a settlement is reached.

Significantly, US President Trump has made it clear that the blockade will continue until a deal is reached with Iran. Meanwhile, Iran has taken a tough stance on tankers transiting the Strait of Hormuz, threatening to block them because they are protesting the US naval blockade.

There are signs of calm amid tensions between the US and Iran, but the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz has complicated the situation.

Trump hints at peace talks with Iran

Speaking to the New York Post, Trump said that a second round of US-Iran talks could begin as early as Friday, and that progress was possible within the next 36 to 72 hours. However, uncertainty remains on Tehran's part. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baqai said the government has not yet decided whether it will participate in the proposed new round of Pakistan-brokered talks in Islamabad.
