Cairo: After intensifying attacks in Lebanon, Israeli military forces have now intensified their action in the West Bank. Meanwhile, the Israeli army raided the bureau of Al Jazeera TV located in Ramallah city of the West Bank and ordered the office to be closed.

Let us tell you that Al Jazeera is the government news channel of Qatar. The Israeli army took this action on Sunday morning. Israel has called Al Jazeera a threat to its national security.

Order to close the office for 45 days

The channel aired live footage of Israeli soldiers storming the channel's office and handing a military order to shut down the office to an Al Jazeera TV employee, before the broadcast was interrupted. The channel has been asked to shut its office for 45 days.

Journalists union condemned

The Palestinian Journalists Union condemned Israel's move. It said, "This arbitrary military decision is a new violation against journalism and media work, which has been exposing the crimes of the occupation against the Palestinian people."

Action has already been taken on Al Jazeera

Earlier in May this year, Israeli authorities raided a hotel in Jerusalem where Al Jazeera had its office. After this, the Israeli government decided to shut down the local operations of Al Jazeera TV station because it said that Al Jazeera posed a threat to national security.
