New York: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a bilateral meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in New York on Monday. This was the second meeting between the two leaders in about a month.

PM Modi posted on Twitter that he met President Zelensky in New York. We are committed to implementing the results of our visit to Ukraine last month to strengthen bilateral relations. Reiterated India's support for an early resolution of the conflict in Ukraine and restoration of peace and stability.
On the bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Modi and Ukrainian President Zelensky, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that this is probably the third meeting between the two leaders in a span of three months. Bilateral issues as well as issues related to the Russia-Ukraine conflict were discussed. President Zelensky highly appreciated India's sensitivity on these issues.
Zelensky thanked Prime Minister Modi
He said that Prime Minister Modi's visit was highly appreciated and thanked him for his efforts to bring peace and find a way out of this conflict. Both sides appreciated that bilateral relations have seen positive development on many issues. Both sides agreed to remain in close contact with each other.
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that in a way, the meeting with President Zelensky also gave Prime Minister Modi an opportunity to say that he has always talked about moving forward on the path of peace by proposing peace, it is clear that if there is no peace then there can be no sustainable development. Only time will tell whether the war will end or not, but everyone's efforts are focused on finding an end to the war.
We need to find a way to end the war
In his conversation with President Zelensky, Prime Minister Modi also told him that he has spoken to the leaders of various countries and discussions keep taking place on this subject. Everyone is of the opinion that somehow we will have to find a way to ceasefire in the war and our efforts are also continuing in this regard.
PM Modi visited Ukraine
PM Modi visited Ukraine on August 23 and reiterated India's willingness to contribute in every possible way to an early return of peace in the Ukrainian conflict. PM Modi visited Ukraine at the invitation of President Zelensky in the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister to Ukraine since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 1992.
Both the leaders had talked about strengthening bilateral relations in future
A joint statement issued after PM Modi's visit to Ukraine said that the two leaders expressed mutual interest in working towards elevating bilateral relations from a comprehensive partnership to a strategic partnership in the future. They reaffirmed their commitment to further develop bilateral relations for the benefit of the people of the two countries on the basis of mutual trust and respect.
