News Topical, Digital Desk : So far, large-scale reconstruction and development work has been done under the master plan in Uttarakhand's major pilgrimage sites Badrinath Dham and Kedarnath Dham. For the first time, the Green Belt Project is being started in both the Dhams. These high Himalayan areas have to be given a new identity for which the work has already been started.

To make the Green Belt project successful, the geographical conditions and local environment of the Dhams will be studied with the help of experts. Officials have been instructed to plant only local vegetation and plants here. Chief Forest Conservator Sameer Singh has asked PCCF Wildlife and Chief Forest Conservation Garhwal to prepare a draft of the plan within 15 days.

Trees will have to be selected in such a way that they can survive in these areas

Sameer Singh says that earlier also the department had prepared nurseries in this area which will be used in this project. Badrinath is 10279 feet and Kedarnath is 11755 feet. Both the Dhams are situated at a high altitude where there is cold, lack of oxygen and snow remains frozen for 6 months. In such conditions it is not easy for any plant or tree to flourish. It is a very difficult task for trees to take root in the Kedarnath area. Such species will have to be selected which can survive naturally in these areas.

Badri-Kedar Committee Chairman Hemant Dwivedi has welcomed this project. He has also expressed concern. Hemant Dwivedi says that earlier also attempts were made to plant trees here but they were not successful. He said that the department should do a thorough study and plant those trees which can survive in this difficult climate.

Oxygen level will increase in the Dham, devotees will get convenience

If this project is successful, the beauty of these Dhams will increase manifold. Devotees will not only be able to visit the magnificent temples, but will also be able to experience the greenery and pure air in the high mountain region. Local people believe that the presence of plants and trees will also increase the level of oxygen, which can reduce the difficulty of pilgrims in breathing at high altitude.

It will be implemented in other Dhams as well

This effort of the forest department will not be limited to Badrinath and Kedarnath only. If this plan is successful, it can be implemented in other religious and Parvati areas of Uttarakhand as well. This can become a sustainable development model for the entire state where the balance between concrete and nature will always be maintained.

The Green Belt Project in Badrinath and Kedarnath Dham is not just an effort to bring greenery but it is a resolution to give new life to those videos. If this plan is successful, then in future devotees will not only experience spiritual energy but will also be able to breathe the purity and greenery of nature.
