News Topical, Digital Desk : Maryada Purushottam Ram: Tuesday is a very special and auspicious day in Sanatan Dharma. On this day, Lord Shri Ram and Hanuman Ji are worshipped with devotion. A fast is also observed on Tuesday. Sanatan scriptures state that Lord Shri Ram met his supreme servant Hanuman Ji on Tuesday. For this reason, Hanuman Ji loves Tuesday.
Therefore, every year, the festival of Budhwa or Bada Mangal is celebrated on Tuesday of the month of Jyeshtha. On this day, Lord Rama and Lord Hanuman are worshipped and revered. But do you know why Lord Shri Ram loved Hanuman more than his younger brother Lakshman.
In his poetic work, the Ram devotee Goswami Tulsidas, the Ramcharitmanas , fully describes the glories, exploits, and life of Lord Rama. The Kishkindha Kand of the Shri Ramcharitmanas tells the story of the meeting between Lord Rama and his supreme servant, Hanuman.
Sanatan scriptures state that after Sita's abduction, Lord Rama and his younger brother Lakshman wandered the forests. During this time, they reached Kishkindha, where they met Hanuman. Earlier, when they reached Rishyamook Mountain, the monkey king Sugreev was frightened by their presence. He immediately told Hanuman to disguise himself as a Brahmin and meet the two ascetics to find out if they were emissaries of Bali. If so, he would leave Rishyamook Mountain.
Then Hanuman, disguised as a Brahmin, met Lord Rama and Lakshmana and inquired about the purpose of their visit. Hearing this, Lord Rama replied, "I am Rama, son of Dasharatha, and this is my younger brother, Lakshmana. We are both searching for Sita, who has been abducted by Ravana, the ten-headed demon." Lord Rama then continued, "I have already told you about myself. Now, Lord Brahmin, tell me who you are."
Hearing this, Hanuman fell at Lord Rama's feet and said, "Forgive me, Lord! I failed to recognize you. As per the Dharma, I asked for your introduction. But you are omniscient, why didn't you stop me? I am your supreme servant, Hanuman." Saying this, Hanuman became emotional. Tears began to flow from his eyes.
quatrain
Listen, O ape, I am not yours. You are twice as dear to me as Lakshmana.
Everyone calls me equal-minded. I am your exclusive devotee.
Seeing this, Lord Shri Ram embraced his supreme servant Hanuman and said, "O Hanuman! Do not feel even the slightest remorse. You are dearer to me than my younger brother Lakshman. Everyone says that I respect everyone, but let me tell you that you are dearest to me, because you have no one else except me." This couplet is inscribed in the Kishkindha Kand of the Shri Ramcharitmanas.
