Fasting and worshipping Lord Skanda on Subrahmanya Shashthi brings happiness, prosperity, and victory to devotees. This festival is especially celebrated in South India. On this special occasion, let's explore the worship method and mantras for Lord Kartikeya.

Auspicious time of Subrahmanya  Shashthi (Skanda Sashti 2025 Shubh Muhurat)

The Shashthi Tithi of the Shukla Paksha (bright fortnight) of Margashirsha month begins on November 25th at 10:56 PM. This Tithi will conclude at 12:01 AM on November 27th. Consequently,  the festival of Subrahmanya Shashthi in Margashirsha month will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 26th.

 

Subramanya  Shashthi Puja Vidhi (Skanda Sashti Puja Vidhi)

On the day of Subrahmanya  Shashthi, wake up early in the morning and take a bath. Afterward, meditate on Lord Skanda and vow to fast. Clean the place of worship and place an idol or picture of Lord Kartikeya on a platform. Worship Lord Kartikeya as well as the entire Shiva family.

During the puja, offer flowers, sandalwood, incense, lamps, and naivedya to Lord Kartikeya, along with fruits and sweets. You can also offer a peacock feather as it is considered dear to Lord Kartikeya. Finally, recite the mantras and aarti of Lord Skanda and distribute the prasad to everyone.
