
News Topical, Digital Desk : Three terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Harwan area of Srinagar on Monday (28 July). An encounter took place between terrorists and security forces near Dachigam National Park. IGP of Kashmir region Vidhi Kumar Birdi has confirmed the killing of the terrorists. He has also said that the operation against the terrorists is still going on.

Jammu and Kashmir Police, paramilitary and army jointly took action by firing on the terrorists. According to internal reports, three bodies have been seen and it seems that they have been neutralized.
It will take some time to identify the killed terrorists-IG
When the IG of Kashmir Zone was asked whether the terrorists killed were involved in the Pahalgam attack, he said, "It will take us some time to identify them. We will share information about this at the right time."
Action against terrorists through 'Operation Mahadev'
The Army's Chinar Corps based in Srinagar wrote on the social media platform 'X', "Contact has been established with the terrorists in Lidwas through Operation Mahadev. The operation is ongoing." Shortly after this, in another post, it was informed that three terrorists were killed during the encounter and the operation is still going on.
Operation after information about the presence of terrorists
According to army officials, security forces had launched an anti-terror operation in Harwan's Mulnar area on Monday after receiving information about the presence of terrorists. They said that when the security forces were conducting a search operation in the area, the sound of gunfire was heard from a distance, after which the security forces became more alert. Three terrorists were trapped in the cordoned area and the soldiers killed all three in the encounter.
