Trump withdraws invitation to Canada
Trump said on Thursday night, January 22, that he was withdrawing an invitation to Prime Minister Mark Carney to join his 'Board of Peace' initiative for Gaza.
"Dear Prime Minister Carney, please consider this letter as proof that the Board of Peace Canada is withdrawing its invitation to join what will be the most prestigious Board of Leaders ever," Trump wrote in a post on the Truth Social website.
About 35 countries have signed up to join the Board of Peace, but Carney had not yet said whether Canada would accept Trump's invitation.
The Canadian Prime Minister was not present at the official launch in Davos. He was instead attending the first day of a cabinet retreat in Quebec City.
