News Topical, Digital Desk : The capital, Lucknow, and nearby districts found relief from the scorching heat and heatwave on Wednesday. Rain accompanied by strong winds in the afternoon brought relief to scorching Lucknow.

According to the Meteorological Department's forecast, several districts from east to west were on alert for rain, thunder, and lightning starting Wednesday. Consequently, rain began falling in Lucknow around 2 p.m. Light rain was forecast for more than 50 districts, including Lucknow, on Wednesday.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for thunderstorms, rain, and hailstorms in several districts of Uttar Pradesh starting today. People were also advised to remain vigilant due to the possibility of strong winds of up to 40-60 km/h.

Due to moisture coming from the Bay of Bengal, winds of 40-60 kilometers per hour are forecast in more than 50 districts through Saturday, along with cloud movement, which could cause a drop of four to five degrees Celsius in maximum and minimum temperatures. On Tuesday, the mercury in Lucknow reached 39.7 degrees Celsius, below 40, after 15 days.

The minimum temperature remained 3.3 degrees Celsius above normal at 26.4 degrees Celsius. The changing weather was evident in most districts, with Banda experiencing intense heatwave conditions, remaining the hottest district for the fourth consecutive day at 45.6 degrees Celsius.

Senior meteorologist Atul Kumar Singh says the change in weather will bring significant relief from the heat wave in many districts. On Tuesday, light rain fell in Jhansi, Hamirpur, Agra, Aligarh, Auraiya, Firozabad, Lalitpur, Mathura, and Mahoba.
