News Topical, Digital Desk : French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte on Wednesday filed a defamation lawsuit against American influencer Candace Owens.
Owens claims that the French first lady was born male. Macron said in a complaint filed in Delaware Superior Court that Owens has waged a false global defamation campaign to promote his podcast.
These lies include that Brigitte Macron, 72, was born Jean-Michel Trogneux, which is the real name of her older brother. It is an extraordinary case of a world leader filing a defamation suit.
What complaint was made by the Macron couple?
The complaint alleges Owens analyzed her appearance, marriage, friends, family and personal history and spun it into a bizarre story aimed at provoking and humiliating her. Owens' spokesperson called the lawsuit an attempt to intimidate her. He said it was a foreign government attacking the rights of an American independent journalist.
At the same time, the lawyer of the Macron couple said that they have filed a lawsuit after Owens rejected three demands to withdraw the defamatory statement. Extensive evidence has been presented in the 219-page complaint against Owens that Brigitte Macron was born a woman, she has always been a woman.
