News Topical, Digital Desk : The holy month of Vaishakh begins on April 3, 2026, and is an excellent time for spiritual progress. It is believed in the scriptures that bathing in holy places, offering prayers to ancestors, and donating during Vaishakh month bestows eternal rewards. The rewards of worshipping Tulsi during Vaishakh month are multiplied infinitely. However, you must observe certain rules and precautions when worshipping Tulsi.

This work is done in Tulsi worship

  • Tulsi ji should be taken special care of in the month of Vaishakh, this not only keeps the plant green but also brings happiness in life.
  • Every morning after taking bath etc., offer water to Tulsi ji and chant the mantra "Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevaya".
  • Circumambulate Tulsi 3 or 7 times and pray for happiness and prosperity.
  • Light a pure ghee lamp near the Tulsi plant in the evening. This destroys negative energy and paves the way for happiness and peace.
  • During the month of Vaishakh, tie a small pot (galantika) over the Tulsi plant, allowing water to drip from it. This is considered very auspicious.

Do not make these mistakes even by mistake

Often, we unknowingly commit some mistakes which may lead to blame instead of virtue, so keep these things in mind -

  • Don't offer water to Tulsi on Sundays and Ekadashi . It is believed that on these days, Mother Tulsi observes a waterless fast for Lord Vishnu.
  • Do not pluck Tulsi leaves or touch Tulsi on Sunday, Ekadashi and after sunset.
  • Do not touch the Tulsi plant without bathing or with dirty hands. This can affect the happiness and prosperity of the home.
  • Never allow garbage or dirt to accumulate around the Tulsi pot.

Never keep these things near Tulsi

Tulsi is considered a very sacred plant in Hinduism . Keeping these things near it can also cause Vastu problems:

  • Never make a shoe stand near Tulsi and do not take off your shoes near Tulsi.
  • Avoid keeping things like broom or dustbin near Tulsi, otherwise it may reduce the positivity of the house.
  • Cactus or any kind of thorny plant should not be kept around Tulsi.
  • Do not allow torn clothes or unnecessary items to accumulate near the Tulsi pot.
