News Topical, Digital Desk : In light of the continued rise in criminal incidents in Uttarakhand, the Uttarakhand Police has decided to launch a comprehensive verification campaign. The Director General of Police has issued instructions to launch a special campaign across the state to identify suspects and crack down on criminal elements. The campaign aims to further strengthen law and order in the state and increase the public's sense of security.
The DGP clarified that special teams will be formed at each police station level to conduct intensive verification campaigns in their respective areas. Regular reviews will be conducted by officers from the Circle Officer (CO) to the IG range level, and responsibility will be fixed for any negligence found. Police Headquarters has clarified that the safety of women, senior citizens, and the general public is a top priority.
These places will be investigated
Under the campaign, people living in multi-story apartments, rented houses, PGs, homestays, hotels, guest houses, ashrams, and dharamshalas will be verified. Employees, contractors, and temporary laborers working in industrial areas will also be checked. Landlords who keep tenants without police verification have also been warned of action.
From delivery agents to foreign nationals within the scope
Employees involved in e-commerce and home delivery services have also been included in the campaign. Delivery agents will be verified on a priority basis. Security guards, cab drivers, and employees working in malls, gyms, coaching centers, schools, universities, and beauty parlors will also be screened.
Police will particularly monitor cases where foreign nationals are staying illegally after their visas have expired. The activities of illegal immigrants, suspected outsiders, mining businessmen, and property dealers will also be investigated.
Concrete action, not just formality
The DGP stated that this campaign will not be a mere formality, but will be conducted as a concrete action. Police have been instructed to take immediate action on any suspicious activity and take strict legal action against the perpetrators. Uttarakhand Police believes that this comprehensive verification campaign will effectively control criminal activities and ensure a fear-free and safe environment in the state.
