Mirzapur. Three people died and 19 pilgrims were injured in a head-on collision between a goods auto (Bajaj Maxima) full of pilgrims and a passenger bus near Khamharia Damuan Katra Narvadeshwar Shiva temple on Mirzapur-Prayagraj road at 6 am on Sunday. Four injured were referred to BHU trauma center. The 15 are being treated at the district hospital. 22 people were riding on a small loader auto.
After the incident, JCB was used to remove the people trapped in the vehicle. After the accident, the driver fled with the bus. There were also pilgrims in the bus. ASP Nitesh Kumar along with the force of three police stations were engaged in rescue work on the spot.
10 were taken to Sarroi Health Center, from where they were referred to Mirzapur Trauma Center. The condition of a child remains critical. The people travelling in the cargo vehicle were coming from Kada Manik to visit Vindhyachal.
