News Topical, Digital Desk : US President Donald Trump is considered the most active president in reacting to Wall Street and the stock markets. Trump has expressed his opinion on the stock market. In his Truthout social post, Trump made a bold prediction about the Dow Jones Industrial Average.
Will the Dow Jones reach 100,000?
In his post, Trump wrote that the record stock market and national security were made possible by his brilliant tariff policies. He said that he sees the Dow Jones reaching 100,000 by the end of his term. Trump also said that he hopes the United States Supreme Court will be watching.
Trump was referring to the case related to his tariffs, which is currently pending before the US Supreme Court. The top court of the world's largest economy has yet to decide whether the tariffs imposed by Trump on all of America's trading partners are legal.
Major uncertainty in US markets:
If the Supreme Court rules against the tariffs, it could lead to significant uncertainty in US markets. Such a decision could directly impact the direction of the stock markets. The next date for a possible Supreme Court decision on this matter has been set for February 20th.
This is not the first time Donald Trump has called for a significant rise in US indices. Earlier this year, during his speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Trump also commented on the markets. He dismissed the sell-off following his threat to forcibly annex Greenland as minor and predicted a 100% rise in the market.
Data shows that since Trump took office, the Dow Jones Industrial Average has seen a one-year gain of over 12%. Despite fluctuations in trading during the first month of 2026, the Dow Jones Industrial Average has recorded a 1.27% gain. Currently, the index remains above the 50,000 mark.
