News Topical, Digital Desk : News of a horrific road accident has emerged in New York, USA. Police said that a tour bus returning from Niagara Falls to New York City crashed on Friday, killing several people and injuring many.

It was not yet clear what caused the crash on I-90 near Pembroke, about 25 miles (40 kilometers) east of Buffalo. Photos taken by people at the scene showed a bus overturned just off the highway.

Trooper James O'Callahan, a New York State Police spokesman, said that at this time, multiple deaths, multiple people trapped and multiple people injured have been reported. Multiple ambulances and medical helicopters evacuated patients from the crash site.

"There was glass all over the street and people's belongings were scattered. All the windows were broken," Powell Stephens of Medina told The Buffalo News after driving by the scene of the accident.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul said on X that she has been briefed on the tragic tour bus accident and that her office is working closely with police and local authorities.
