Kunika-Sonu's affair lasted for six years

In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Kunika opened up about her relationship with Kumar Sanu, which according to her lasted for six years. According to her, they considered each other as husband and wife. She recalled that they first met in Ooty, where she was shooting for a project and Sanu was holidaying with his sister and nephew.

Kunika said, 'We were having dinner together and he got very drunk. He started crying and wanted to jump from the hotel window. He was very depressed. His sister, nephew and I had to handle him'.

How the relationship began

She further added, 'I got very emotional because he was really upset. He didn't want to break his marriage or leave his children. After calming him down, I reminded him of his responsibilities towards his children and work. I think that moment brought us closer. After that, he came back and started living in the flat next to mine. We started having meals together and I helped him lose weight. That's how our relationship started'.

Kunika said that she decided to keep this relationship private out of respect for her family. We were only seen in public when we performed together in the show. I helped him choose his clothes and managed his performance. I was like his wife and treated him like my husband. It seemed like our relationship was like Shakuntala and Dushyant. But later, I came to know such things about him that broke my heart.

Sonu's wife had broken Kunika's car

However, the situation worsened when Sanu's wife Rita Bhattacharya found out about this relationship. After finding out about this, his wife broke my car with a hockey stick.
