News Topical, Digital Desk : The US has arrested a suspect in connection with the 2012 attack on its consulate in Benghazi, Libya. He played a central role in the attack.
US Attorney General Pam Bondi gave this information on Friday. Bondi said that Zubair al-Baqoush has been brought to America and he will face charges related to murder, arson and terrorism.
4 American employees died
Four American personnel were killed in the attacks on September 11, 2012. The attacks were initially thought to be a response to protests, but were later determined to be a deliberate attack by extremists.
Some of them were linked to al-Qaeda. Zubayr is the third person to face criminal charges in connection with the attack. Two others, Ahmed Abu and Mustafa al-Imam, are serving long prison sentences.
