News Topical, Digital Desk : Dry weather has added to the rising temperatures, with strong westerly winds adding to the heat. Due to the soaring temperatures, the Meteorological Department has issued a heat wave warning for Sunday and Monday.

A yellow alert has been issued, advising people to avoid it. Avoid going outside between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. unless absolutely necessary, and if you do, do so with extreme caution, as this could lead to heat stroke and sunburn.

Dr. Atul Kumar Singh, senior meteorologist at the Meteorological Department's regional office in Lucknow, said that the maximum temperature in the southern part of the state could reach or even exceed 45°C. Additionally, the speed of dry westerly winds entering the state could increase. Consequently, heat waves are likely to occur in parts of southern Uttar Pradesh.

On Saturday itself, the maximum temperature in BHU area increased by 1.4 degree Celsius and reached 43 degree Celsius, 3.8 degree Celsius more than normal. The minimum temperature decreased by 1.6 degree Celsius and it was 23.4 degree Celsius, one degree more than normal. On the other hand, the maximum temperature at Babatpur Airport increased by 1.8 degree Celsius and reached 41.8 degree Celsius, 2.2 degree Celsius more than normal.

Meanwhile, humidity dropped from 60 to 29 percent in the BHU area and from 37 to 19 percent in the Babatpur area. A strong westerly wind continued to blow at a speed of 18 kilometers per hour. It felt as if the wind was carrying a flame. Due to this, traffic on the roads became quite sparse during the afternoon. Some roads and ghats were deserted.

Temperature may reach 45°C, strong westerly winds may blow

BHU meteorologist Professor Manoj Kumar Srivastava said that when temperatures consistently reach 40 degrees Celsius and strong winds blow, it can become a heat wave, a condition known as a heat wave. Such a situation is likely on Sunday and Monday. People need to be vigilant.
