News Topical, Digital Desk : The Yogi Adityanath government has made a major announcement regarding police recruitment in Uttar Pradesh. The state government has announced a three-year age relaxation for 32,679 police recruitments. This demand was made by the Samajwadi Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party.
This decision, made on the instructions of CM Yogi, has brought significant relief to candidates seeking 32,679 police recruitment positions. It was announced that direct recruitment for the UP Police and Jail Department will be granted a three-year age relaxation. This includes constables, PAC, Special Security Force, women's battalion, and jail warders.
Age relaxation has been granted to all categories for recruitment to a total of 32,679 posts. The Uttar Pradesh government has issued a government order in this regard. A statement from the Chief Minister's Office stated that the decision was taken in the best interests of the candidates.
What was said in the order to increase the age limit of UP Police?
In a press release, it was said that after due consideration in view of the interests of the candidates, Uttar Pradesh, in continuation of the even numbered release dated 31.12.2025 regarding inviting online applications from the candidates under Direct Recruitment-2025 for Constable Civil Police and equivalent posts in UP Police, by Government Order No.-1/1194447/6-1001(008)24/23, dated 05.01.2026, for filling up a total of 32679 vacant posts of Constable Na0Pu (Male/Female), Constable PAC / Armed Police (Male), Constable Special Security Force (Male), Female Constable for Women Battalion, Constable Mounted Police (Male), Jail Warder (Male) and Jail Warder (Female) of Personnel Section-2, Uttar Pradesh Administration's Uttar Pradesh Public Service (Relaxation of Age Limit for Recruitment) Rules-1992, related notification number: In the light of Rule-3 of 11/3/1991-Ka0-2-92, dated 23.07.1992, it has been decided to provide relaxation of 03 years for one time as an exception for all categories in the maximum age limit prescribed for the said direct recruitment.
Let us tell you that in this matter, SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav, BJP leader and MLA Shalabhmani Tripathi and many public representatives had written a letter to CM Yogi, demanding relaxation in the age limit.
