News Topical, Digital Desk : Eid-ul-azha 2025: Uttar Pradesh's Sambhal District Magistrate (DM) Rajendra Pensia on Tuesday (June 3) said that animal sacrifice will not be allowed at public places during Bakrid and strict action will be taken against anyone trying to disrupt public order.

Pensia said in a press conference that a peace committee meeting was convened ahead of the festival, which was also attended by representatives of the areas where Eid prayers will be held. Eid-ul-Azha or Bakrid festival will be celebrated in the country on Saturday (June 7). He said, “All stakeholders were consulted. Qurbani will be offered only at 19 pre-marked sites. No public or open space will be used for sacrificing animals.”

Eid prayers expected to be held peacefully

The DM said that the slaughter of prohibited animals has been banned for years and no such incident has taken place in the last five years. Pensia said, "Eid prayers are expected to be held peacefully. The administration will ensure proper arrangements for water, electricity and sanitation." He said that religious leaders have been advised to complete the rituals of sacrifice by 3 pm between June 7 and June 9.

Strict action will be taken for disturbing peace- DM

When asked by the media if preventive measures have been taken against some people, Pensia said, "Preventive restrictions have already been imposed against about 900 to 950 people. Strict legal action will be taken against any attempt to disturb the peace." The DM said, "We have clearly instructed that no video of Qurbani should be posted on social media."
