What is the whole matter?
A one-storey house collapsed like a house of cards due to a loud explosion while lighting an LPG stove at around 7.30 am today in the Lahartara area of Maduwadih police station area of Varanasi. In this incident, a total of 4 people were buried under the debris, in which a brother and sister died and a brother and mother were injured, who have been admitted to BHU Trauma Centre.
A CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced, clearly showing the LPG explosion. The Additional Commissioner of Police, who arrived at the scene after receiving information about the incident, stated that the incident was caused by an LPG leak. A large number of police personnel, including the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), a bomb squad, and a forensic team are present at the scene and are investigating the cause of the incident.
Police statement revealed
District Additional Police Commissioner for Law and Order Shivhari Meena arrived at the scene of the incident. He explained that this morning, the control room received information that a house had collapsed in the Lahartara area. Senior officers, along with the local police, were immediately dispatched to the scene, along with the NDRF, SDRF, bomb squad, and forensic team. Upon arriving at the scene, a rescue operation was launched, in which four people were pulled from the debris and taken to the BHU Trauma Center. Doctors have confirmed the deaths of sister Preeti and brother Om Kumar Chaudhary, while Aman and Girja Devi were injured and are receiving treatment. An LPG stove and two LPG cylinders were found buried under the debris in the house at the scene, which the forensic team has taken into custody. The debris of the house that collapsed in the blast is still being removed with a JCB, and the scene is being re-examined.
