News Topical, Digital Desk : After the conversion scandal at Lucknow's KGMU linked to the Basti Medical College case in Agra, the college administration was shaken, prompting increased security. Every vehicle entering the medical college and every person leaving is being thoroughly checked.

Basti Medical College is also in the news for the religious conversion case. Hindu leaders claim that several clerics attend the college and impart religious education, and that students also visit the mosque outside the college campus and offer prayers there. Following the conversion case, the Basti police have launched an investigation.

In fact, Rampur Maharishi Vashishtha Medical College, located in the Basti Kotwali police station area, is currently in the news for religious conversion. Serious allegations have surfaced regarding alleged religious conversions involving MBBS students studying at Basti Medical College. A complaint has been submitted to the Superintendent of Police, Basti, demanding a swift investigation and strict action against the culprits. The complaint claims that an alleged religious conversion network is active in the medical colleges of KGMU, Lucknow, Agra, and Basti, with links to the Basti district.

It is alleged that some students at Rampur Medical College are being sent to madrasas to offer namaz at the behest of local clerics. Additionally, outside clerics have been invited to certain rooms within the college to convert to Islam and teach jihadi texts. It is alleged that Hindu students are being lured and induced to convert, and that some doctors and officials are also involved in this alleged organization.

Additionally, the role of the district's intelligence agencies, including the LIU and IB, has been questioned, calling them inactive. Considering the seriousness of the matter, Superintendent of Police Abhinandan has taken cognizance and launched a confidential investigation. The principal of Maharishi Vashisht Medical College stated, "I have been working there for the past seven years, but nothing of this nature has come to light. The campus is equipped with CCTV, and anyone entering is thoroughly checked. Only after that is allowed inside." Regarding the Maulana's visit to the campus, I can't say if a student's guardian is visiting, but no one is allowed to stay on campus.

Given the seriousness of the religious conversion scandal unfolding in medical colleges, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has handed over the investigation to the UP Special Task Force (STF). Three medical colleges in the state have been found involved in this religious conversion scandal, in which attempts were made to lure and brainwash doctors. It remains to be seen what other names emerge in this entire episode, and when the police will reach the clerics involved, and whether the case will be exposed.
