News Topical, Digital Desk : An uncle and nephew drowned in the Yamuna River while trying to make a reel at the Hathnikund Barrage in the Mirzapur police station area. Nephew Deepak was rescued, but his uncle, 21-year-old Lokesh Kumar, was missing. Police arrived at the scene upon receiving the information, and the PAC's flood team also began searching for Lokesh in the water.

On Thursday evening, Lokesh, son of Dharampal, a resident of Ram Dholra, Kotwali Behat, went for a walk with his nephew Deepak. Meanwhile, they attempted to take a video in front of the pond north of the barrage. As a result, both of them fell into the water. Passersby managed to rescue Deepak.

Lokesh was nowhere to be found. Upon receiving the information, Inspector Sube Singh and Hathnikund outpost in-charge Amresh Bhati also reached the spot. However, the search was unsuccessful as it was night.

Deepak informed his family members, who also arrived at the scene. On Friday morning, the flood company of the 41st PAC battalion, led by Chief Constable Manoj Sharma, arrived at the Hathni Kund Barrage with a motor boat and began searching for Lokesh at the Hathni Kund Barrage. Local divers are also being enlisted in the search for the young man.
