
News Topical, Digital Desk : Lucknow News: Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) has got another big success. STF has arrested two smugglers wanted under Gangster Act and carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 each from Chandauli. Both the accused were absconding for a long time and were involved in interstate smuggling of bovine animals.
The first name among the arrested accused is Khurshid Ahmed who is a resident of Dhabarsi village of Adampur police station area of Amroha district. The second accused is Noor Hasan who is a resident of Dhakkha village of Saidangali police station area of Amroha. Both of them were caught from Jetmal Tiraha of Sayyedraja police station area of Chandauli district at around 11 pm on 28 June 2025.
STF was getting information for some time that these two wanted smugglers are active in Chandauli area. Under this, STF formed a team under the leadership of UP Superintendent of Police Lal Pratap Singh and started gathering information. Inspector Aditya Kumar Singh and his team reached the spot and caught both of them.
The criminals have links with many states.
During interrogation, the arrested accused told that they have an organized gang which used to steal cattle from states like Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab and smuggle them to northeastern states like Assam and West Bengal. Both have been arrested earlier in Delhi, UP, Haryana and Assam. In February 2023, the Sayyedaraja police station caught them in a case of cow smuggling, after which a case was registered under the Gangster Act. Since then, both of them were absconding and were hiding in Delhi, Haryana and Ahmedabad.
Many cases are registered against both of them.
It was told that, accused Khurshid Ahmed has many cases registered against him under cow slaughter prevention and Gangster Act in Hapur, Amroha and Chandauli. Whereas Noor Hasan has cases registered against him in Guwahati and Kokrajhar (Assam) for serious charges like animal cruelty, robbery, fraud and attack on police. After the arrest, both of them were brought to Sayyedaraja police station and case number 32/2024, section 3(1) UP Gangster Act was registered. Further legal action is being taken by the local police.
The Uttar Pradesh government has made strict laws regarding cow slaughter and smuggling of bovine animals. There is a provision for severe punishment if found guilty under the UP Cow Slaughter Prevention Act. Despite this, many organized gangs are still involved in illegal smuggling of cows. In such a situation, the action of STF and police is being considered a part of the government's zero tolerance policy.
