News Topical, Digital Desk : Donald Trump, who has been trying to stop the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, has once again faced disappointment. Trump had sent his envoy to Russia to propose a peace proposal. However, even after this meeting, the desired outcome was not achieved, as the two countries failed to reach an agreement on the Ukrainian territories.

In fact, a peace meeting was held in the Kremlin in Russia regarding the ongoing conflict with Ukraine. US President Trump sent two envoys to the meeting. The meeting between Russian President Putin and Trump's envoys lasted approximately five hours. Despite this, the US failed to secure a potential peace agreement to end the war in Ukraine.

Trump's son-in-law meets with Putin

Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov said Putin met late Tuesday with Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff and his son-in-law Jared Kushner, but the two sides only reviewed the broad outlines of the US proposals and did not reach any agreement.

No consensus reached

According to the New York Times, Ushakov said, "The discussions between Trump's envoy and Putin were very useful, constructive, and substantive. The meeting lasted five hours, not five minutes." But the talks failed to reach an agreement.

During the meeting, Putin discussed the four proposals submitted by the United States. He was able to agree on some points and confirmed them to his interlocutors. However, others were criticized.

Putin gave Trump several important signals and personal greetings, however, both sides agreed not to disclose specific information to the media.

These issues were also discussed

Ushakov also confirmed that the discussions included the "territorial issue," a term used by the Kremlin to describe Russia's claims to the entire Donbas region. However, Ukraine still controls approximately 5,000 square kilometers of the region that Russia claims as its own, and almost all countries recognize Donbas as part of Ukraine.

"There is still a lot of work to be done in both Washington and Moscow. This is what has been agreed upon, and contacts will continue," Ushakov said.
