News Topical, Digital Desk : Dr. Walter Ladwig, Senior Lecturer in International Relations at King's College London, has made a big statement about the ceasefire between India and Pakistan. He said that the agreement between India and Pakistan to stop firing after the military clash between the two countries was largely based on the will of both sides.

He said that there was no pressure or mediation of any kind in the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, as US President Donald Trump has told the world.

Response to Trump's claims

Walter Ladwig said that India is moving very fast and the growth rate is skyrocketing, growing at an impressive rate of seven percent per year and India will move even faster.

Regarding Trump's claims, he said, "The way Trump claimed that mediation was done, I don't think any mediation was really needed." He said that America was negotiating, but it was not the only country. I think the solution to the crisis came from the wishes of India and Pakistan.

India made it clear on the issue of Kashmir

Let us tell you, India has made it clear that any issue related to Jammu and Kashmir should be resolved bilaterally with Pakistan and there is no need for anyone's interference in this. India has said that at present the main issue is to vacate Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal had made it clear during the media briefing that India's policy regarding Jammu and Kashmir is that the related issue should be resolved bilaterally with Pakistan and India has not made any change in this policy.

Jaiswal said, "It has been India's long-standing position that any issue relating to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir should be resolved bilaterally by India and Pakistan. Our pending matter is the evacuation of Indian territory illegally occupied by Pakistan."

He said that since the beginning of Operation Sindoor, there were discussions between India and America about the military situation, but the issue of trade was not raised in any of the discussions. He said, "From May 7 to the announcement of ceasefire on May 10, there were discussions with America about the military situation, but the issue of trade was not raised in it."

'Many countries stood with India'

In fact, US President Donald Trump had commented that trade was mentioned in the context of US efforts to resolve tensions between India and Pakistan. Randhir Jaiswal has clarified the picture regarding this comment of Trump.

Trump had said that his administration played a key role in defusing the growing tensions between India and Pakistan. Responding to this, Dr Ladwig said that many countries, including Western governments and Russia, talked about the need to fight terrorism in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack and all countries stood with India.
