News Topical, Digital Desk : US President Donald Trump seems to be a little too kind to China. On Monday, Trump again extended the deadline for tariffs on Chinese goods. Trump signed an order in this regard. This decision was taken a few hours before the deadline for the tariff war between China and America was to expire.
American media Wall Street Journal and CNBC reported that Trump has extended the ban on tariffs on China for 90 days. This ban was going to end on Tuesday. Not only this, Trump even said that his relations with Xi Jinping are very good and China is behaving very well.
China got exemption till November
The full text of the order signed by Trump to stop the tariffs has not been released yet. But the Wall Street Journal has claimed that this exemption will end in early November. Xi Jinping and Trump also talked on the phone regarding the tariffs. China has expressed hope that America will follow the consensus reached during the talks.
Let us tell you that earlier this year, Trump had announced to impose heavy tariffs on China. In response to this, China also imposed heavy tariffs on America. But in the understanding between the two countries in May, there was an agreement to temporarily reduce the tariffs. After this, Trump put the tariffs on China on hold. This deadline was to end on Tuesday, which has been extended again.
Putting the tariff on China on hold means that only 30 percent tariff will be imposed on goods going from China to America. Whereas China is charging 10 percent tariff from America. At the same time, Trump has announced to impose 50 percent tariff on India. In this, 25 percent tariff has been imposed for buying oil from Russia.
