News Topical, Digital Desk : US President Donald Trump will meet with New York City's newly elected Mayor Zohran Mamdani on November 21. Posting on his Truthout social platform, Trump wrote, "Communist Mayor Mamdani has asked for a meeting. We have agreed to it. This meeting will take place on Friday, November 21st, in the Oval Office."
In fact, US President Trump has previously strongly criticized Mamdani's policies. He even called him a communist lunatic. On the day of the November 4th election, Trump had said that if Mamdani won, it would be an "economic and social disaster" for New York City. Now, Trump is scheduled to meet with Mamdani on Friday.
What did Mamdani say?
New York City's newly elected mayor, Zohran Mamdani, didn't hold back from taking a jab at Republican President Trump during his victory speech. "Donald Trump, since I know you're watching (this speech), I have four words for you - turn up the volume!" White House Press Secretary Carolyn Levitt confirmed that Trump had indeed seen Mamdani speak.
Mamdani had challenged Trump during his victory speech, saying that New York would be run by immigrants and after his historic victory, it would also be led by an immigrant.
Mamdani should contact us
Meanwhile, Trump described Mamdani's victory speech as "very angry," saying that he had a bad start and was unlikely to succeed if he didn't respect Washington. Trump also said, "I think it would be more appropriate for Mamdani to contact us." He further said that he was "very ambivalent because I want to see the new mayor do well, because I love New York. I really love New York."
