When Uttarakhand police investigated the CCTV cameras installed around the crime scene, the murder was revealed. When the police arrested the accused father and questioned him, he confessed his crime. The police filed a case against the accused under various sections and presented him in court.
There was a stir on Tuesday when the body of 15-year-old Ankit, a resident of Azad Nagar Transit Camp, Rudrapur in Udham Singh Nagar district, was found in the bushes near Sidkul in Pantnagar police station area. After getting information about the case, the police of Pantnagar police station as well as the police and forensic team of the nearby police stations also reached the spot.
After collecting evidence from the crime
scene, the teams started investigating the CCTV cameras installed around the crime scene. After Ankit's body was found, the police registered a case based on the complaint of his mother Aarti. The police registered a case and on the basis of investigation of CCTV cameras, the police arrested Ankit's father Devdutt and interrogated him, and he told the truth to the police.
During police interrogation, accused Devdutt told that he was very upset with his son's habit of stealing. On Monday also, Ankit had stolen 10 thousand rupees. He was upset with this habit and killed him. Police took legal action and presented accused Devdutt in the court, from where he was sent to jail. Police have recovered a Hero cycle and a Lylon belt of the deceased's school on the information given by the accused father.
What did SP Crime Niharika Tomar say in the case?
SP Crime Niharika Tomar said that on Tuesday at 1 pm we received information on 112 that the body of a minor child was found inside the bushes in the Sidkul outpost area of Pantnagar police station area. Police teams immediately reached the spot, when the police tried to identify the body, the body was identified as 15-year-old Ankit son of Devdutt, resident of Transit Camp.
The family members of the deceased were also informed about the discovery of the body. On the basis of the complaint of the deceased's mother Aarti, the police registered a case against an unknown person. On the instructions of SSP sir, the teams formed started searching for the accused through CCTV footage, surveillance and manual policing. When the CCTV camera footage was observed by the five teams, it was found that the deceased Ankit Gangwar had left for school in the morning with his children, but instead of dropping him to school, his father took him towards the incident spot.

When differences were found in our statements and doubts were raised after observing the CCTV footage, Devdutt Gangwar was brought to the police station for extended questioning. The accused accepted that he lived in the Transit Camp area with his wife and two sons for the past four years. The elder son Ankit used to steal money everyday. Due to which there were quarrels every day. After making a plan, he took his sons from home to school. Instead of school, he took them to the spot of the incident, where he was murdered. Further action has been initiated by registering a case against the accused father under various sections for the murder of the son.
