
News Topical, Digital Desk : A fire broke out in a jewelry shop, a shoe showroom, and a prayer room in Sector 23 Raj Nagar, Ghaziabad. The fire broke out early in the morning. It is reported that the damage caused by the fire is estimated to be in the millions of rupees. A tent had been erected outside the jewelry showroom for decoration. It is suspected that the fire started in this tent due to firecrackers, and then engulfed all three shops. Half a dozen bikes parked outside were also destroyed.
A fire broke out at Mangalam Jewellers in Sector 23, Raj Nagar, Ghaziabad. On Tuesday morning, Mangalam Jewellers, Paradise Shoe, and Ganesh Pooja Ghar were adjacent to each other. It is reported that a tent had been set up outside Mangalam Jewellers for the festival.
Burning shops
It's suspected that a spark from a firecracker ignited the tent, and before anyone could understand the situation, all three shops were engulfed in flames. Not only this, half a dozen bikes parked outside these shops were also reduced to ashes. The fires in these three shops are estimated to have caused losses worth crores of rupees, although the exact figures are not yet known.
In the last 24 hours, 48 incidents of arson were reported across the district.
Meanwhile, if we talk about Ghaziabad as a whole, 48 fire incidents occurred in the district during the 24 hours of Diwali, i.e. from 6:00 am on October 20th to 6:00 am on October 21st. These included 14 fires in flats and houses, 7 in shops and showrooms, 3 in vehicles, 5 in factories or warehouses, 15 in garbage, 2 in meter transformers and water coolers, and 2 other calls.
However, fortunately, no lives were lost in these fires. The Ghaziabad Fire Department had identified 14 hotspots where fire engines were stationed continuously.
