News Topical, Digital Desk : Sambhal MP and Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Ziaur Rahman Barq has strongly reacted to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sangeet Som's controversial statement regarding the burqa. He said that it is unfortunate that these people only see terrorism in burqas, skull caps, and beards, while the reality is quite different.
Ziaur Rahman Barq said that no one can ever prove that terrorism takes place under the guise of burqa because burqa is a symbol of decency and the message of veiling in Islam. He said that some people make their political bread in the name of Hindu-Muslim but now the public has recognized and rejected them.
'This is how they make statements to maintain their existence'
The SP MP alleged that such leaders make controversial statements only to maintain their existence but they cannot succeed in this way. Ziaur Rahman Barq said, “This is the beauty of our country that people of every religion live here as per their wish and believe, such people try to spread hatred under its guise, which I condemn in the strongest terms.
What did BJP leader Sangeet Som say?
In fact, Sangeet Som has once again issued a highly controversial statement regarding the burqa worn by Muslim women, which has heated up the political atmosphere in the country. During an event in Meerut on Saturday, Som bluntly stated that terrorism and fraud are flourishing in the country under the guise of the burqa. He claimed that the burqa plays a major role in terrorist activities in the country.
Sarcasm taken on Akhilesh Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav
Som directly criticized opposition leaders, particularly Akhilesh Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav, who have responded to the burqa issue. He said that these leaders are well aware of the perpetration of the burqa, which is why they are quick to jump on the scene. He alleged that the burqa has become a shield for all kinds of wrongdoing, from terrorism to fake identities.
"Every woman should be allowed to vote only after seeing her face."
In the context of the Bihar elections, the BJP leader appealed to the Election Commission to prevent fraudulent voting under the guise of burqas. He demanded that every woman be allowed to vote only after seeing her face, so that the voter's identity can be clearly established. He questioned that while Muslim women reveal their faces at airports, when traveling abroad, and even during the Hajj pilgrimage, why are they reluctant to reveal their faces while voting?
Furthermore, while discussing " Operation Sindoor ," Som accused Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi of not understanding the value of vermilion. He said that even Tejashwi Yadav doesn't understand the significance of vermilion; if he understands anything, it's only the burqa.
Counterattack on Azam Khan's statement
He also countered Azam Khan's statement, "Anyone who can light a lamp can burn anyone," saying, "He should consider that anyone who can behead a goat can behead anyone." Som stressed that such statements spread hatred in society.
