News Topical, Digital Desk : If you think that only expensive creams and serums will keep your skin healthy, you're only focusing on one aspect. In reality, our skin's health depends more on our diet and nutrition.

Eating right can make your skin glow and look healthy, but the wrong diet can cause serious damage. According to Hyderabad-based dermatologist Dr. Pooja Reddy , certain foods are red flags for your skin. Avoiding them is essential to maintaining healthy and youthful skin. Let's learn about them.

Fructose corn syrup

It's an artificial sweetener often found in soda, packaged juices, biscuits, and processed junk food. According to doctors, it's 10 times more harmful than sugar and rapidly damages your skin's proteins. It creates AGEs (Advanced Glycation End products) in the body, which directly destroy your skin's collagen. The result is that your skin becomes rough, wrinkles form faster, and it also harms your liver. If you eat too much packaged processed food, you're inviting premature aging .

Reheated refined oil

We often enjoy samosas or deep-fried snacks from outside, but the problem is that vendors reheat the same oil over and over again. Repeated heating changes the oil's composition. Dr. Reddy explains that each time the oil is heated, the protective vitamin E present in it gets damaged. This oxidized fat causes internal inflammation in the body and skin .

Crispy and deep-fried foods

The golden brown color and crispy texture of French fries, fritters, and chips are very appealing. But this crispness is dangerous for health. According to doctors, when food is crisped at very high temperatures, acrylamide is formed. The darker and crispier the food, the higher the amount of AGEs in it. These elements directly harm your skin's structure and rapidly damage collagen, causing the skin to lose its flexibility.
