News Topical, Digital Desk : India has stopped the Indus Water Treaty with Pakistan. Meanwhile, the movement for the water of the Indus River continues in Pakistan. The protests against the construction of controversial canals on the Indus River in Sindh province have become more violent.

 

According to Pakistani newspaper Dawn, a fierce clash broke out between police and protesters in Moro taluka of Naushahro Feroze district. Police resorted to lathicharge to stop the protesters. Police resorted to lathicharge and bullets were also fired. One person died in the police lathicharge and some others including Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) were injured.

 

Protesters entered the home minister's house 

After this, the protesters turned violent and set two trailers on fire. They also entered the house of Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar and vandalised it and set many parts on fire, while some motorcycles were also set on fire. The protesters reached the Home Minister's house with guns.

Due to this, traffic on the road towards Moro remained suspended. Meanwhile, a police statement said that Benazirabad Deputy Inspector General of Police Parvez Chandio and Naushahro Feroz Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sanghar Malik reached the spot and personnel from various police stations were also called to bring the situation under control.

 

'Attack on politician's house is a conspiracy'

PPP Sindh Information Secretary Aziz Dhamra condemned the incident in a statement, calling it a terrorist activity. He said that there is no ban on people's protests, but attacking the house of a political opponent seems to be a conspiracy. Sindh Home Minister also issued a statement and asked the Naushahro Feroz SSP to submit a report on the incident.
