Nivrutti Shinde, an elderly resident of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in Maharashtra, whose video went viral, has given a statement on the viral video. He said, “For the past 15 years, I had been telling my wife that I would get her some gold jewellery. But I could not do so. Day before yesterday, when we went to a jewellery shop, the owner gave us jewellery for free. This made us very happy.”
The elderly man went to the jewelry shop with 1120 rupees
The elderly couple seen in the video of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar which is going viral on social media are Nivriti Shinde and his wife Shantabai. According to the information, 93-year-old Nivriti Shinde had gone to a jewellery shop to get a mangalsutra for his wife. The couple liked the jewellery after which the shopkeeper approached them. When the shopkeeper asked the elderly couple how much money they had, the elderly woman showed 1120 rupees in her hand.
What did the shopkeeper do next?
Seeing 1120 rupees in the hand of the elderly woman, the shopkeeper said that this is a lot of money. Then the couple felt that the money was less. They took out two bundles from their bag which contained a lot of coins. However, the shopkeeper flatly refused to take money from them and gave the jewellery to the elderly. The shopkeeper took only 10 rupees each from both of them as blessings. The shopkeeper has said that even at this age, the elderly couple's love for each other is worth learning and that is why I took only 20 rupees from them as blessings.
