News Topical, Digital Desk : Amid rising tensions between Iran and the US, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has warned the US, saying Trump should respect Iran, as the country will not tolerate the language of force.

This statement comes at a time when the second phase of nuclear talks between the two countries is going to be held in Oman next week.

Pezeshkian stressed that Iran has every right to continue uranium enrichment under the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

What did Iran say on the nuclear issue?

President Pezeshkian posted on the social media platform X, “Our approach to the nuclear issue is based on the rights enshrined in the Non-Proliferation Treaty.

The Iranian president has always responded to respect with respect, but he cannot tolerate the language of force.

Describing the talks held in Oman as a positive step, he said that his administration is ready for talks.

Why is America deploying troops?

The statement comes amid a surge in US military deployments in the Gulf as the Donald Trump administration steps up pressure on Iran over its nuclear program and a crackdown on January protests.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi acknowledged that the US is strengthening its military fleet in the region, but added, "We are not afraid of their military deployment in the region." The US deployed the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier to the Arabian Sea in late January.

According to a BBC report, satellite images showed that a dozen F-15 fighter jets, MQ-9 Reaper drones and A-10C Thunderbolt II aircraft have arrived at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan.

Additionally, the USS Delbert D. Black destroyer is transiting the Suez Canal toward the Red Sea, while MQ-4C Triton drones are conducting surveillance in the Gulf. The presence of E-11A, P-8 Poseidon, and E-3G Sentry aircraft was also previously reported.

Iran's tough stance

Despite the US military deployment, Araghchi refused to abandon uranium enrichment. He said Iran would not be intimidated by the threat of war.

"We place such emphasis on enrichment and refuse to give it up, even if war is imposed on us," he said at the Tehran forum.

Meanwhile, the US condemned the Iranian government's crackdown on protests in Iran, where three reformists were arrested and Nobel laureate Narges Mohammadi was sentenced.
