News Topical, Digital Desk : Nine people fell ill after eating stale vegetables at a wedding ceremony in Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh. The incident occurred in Ratauli village. The bride's grandfather, along with other women and five children, were admitted to the district hospital after suffering from vomiting and diarrhea. Doctors have diagnosed it as a case of food poisoning.

In Ratouli village, Mahoba district, wedding ceremonies are currently underway for Rammilan Prajapati's daughter, Karishma. The ceremony is scheduled for April 21st, and the house is thronged with relatives and guests. But the dinner prepared on Saturday evening (April 18th) transformed the joyous atmosphere into fear. 

Guests fell ill shortly after eating their meal.

According to reports, potato-tomato curry and rice were served for dinner. Shortly after eating, the guests began to feel unwell one by one. It started with the children, who complained of high fever, vomiting, and diarrhea. Within minutes, nine members of the family were affected. 

Admitted in Mahoba District Hospital

Those who fell ill included the bride's 60-year-old grandfather, Laxman, as well as relatives from Bajrangpur and Dhawari villages in Madhya Pradesh. Seeing the serious condition of five children, three women, and one man, the family initially admitted them to a private hospital in Paswara. But when they showed no improvement, they were rushed to Mahoba District Hospital on Sunday evening. 

People fell ill due to food poisoning – doctor

The victims' families say they all developed diarrhea and fever after eating potato-tomato curry in the evening. The victims range from 3-year-old Santosh to 55-year-old Bhagwati. Dr. Shishupal, stationed in the hospital's emergency ward, confirmed that this was clearly a case of food poisoning. According to doctors, the contaminated food contributed to the deterioration of their health. 

The condition of all those admitted in Mahoba hospital is now stable.

At present, doctors at the district hospital have provided first aid to all the patients and shifted them to wards. The relief is that due to timely treatment, all of them are now reported to be in stable condition. However, this incident has brought the joy of the wedding home to the hospital's streets.
