News Topical, Digital Desk : Stock Market This Week: This week, the direction of the local stock market is going to be decided by the attitude regarding the India-US trade deal, global trends and quarterly results of big companies like Infosys-Bajaj Finance. Market experts believe that on the first trading day of the week, Monday 21 July 2025, the market trend can be seen on the quarterly results of three big companies - Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank.
Will quarterly results change market trends?
The country's most valuable company Reliance Industries released its first quarter results for the financial year 2025-26 on Friday and it has recorded its highest ever quarterly profit of Rs 26,994 crore. This is a massive jump of 78.3 percent compared to the same period last year. Ajit Mishra, Senior Vice Chief Research, brokerage firm Religare Limited, says that all eyes are currently on the current quarter results session.
On Monday, investors will first react to the quarterly results of three big companies - Reliance, ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank. After this, quarterly results will be announced by other companies including Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, Nestle India, Infosys and Bajaj Finance.
Foreign institutional investors are also keeping an eye on
Along with this, Ajit Mishra says that events like trade deals will be monitored at the global level and the flow of foreign institutional investors as well as currency movement will also give direction to the market.
In this regard, Siddharth Khemka, Research Chief - (Wealth Management), brokerage firm Motilal Oswal Financial Services Limited, says that due to the long wait for India and America trade agreement before the tariff deadline of August 1, investors are keeping away from the market.
Along with this, fluctuations in crude oil prices and activities of foreign institutional investors will also be monitored. It is worth noting that last week, the BSE Sensex comprising 30 shares fell by 742.74 points or 0.90 percent. Whereas NSE's Nifty was down by 181.45 points or 0.72 percent.
