
News Topical, Digital Desk : Shares of SPML Infra Limited have seen a gain of more than 3% in the early hours of trading on Tuesday morning. In fact, the company has secured a contract for a water supply project worth ₹1,073 crore in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, which has been given by the Indore Municipal Corporation.
In an exchange filing, the company said that this project is related to the development of water supply system under AMRUT 2.0. The project also includes operation and maintenance (O&M) services for 10 years.
What are the details of the project Intake and pumping of raw water: Construction of a state-of-the-art intake and raw water pump house with a capacity of 1,650 MLD.
Water treatment plant: A modern water treatment plant of 400 MLD, which will meet stringent water quality standards.
Pumping and transmission: Development of clear water booster pump stations and pumping mains including 22 km long pipeline (1,200 mm to 2,337 mm diameter).
Electric substation: A 132/33 kilovolt power substation will be installed which will support water supply operations.
Long-term operation: O&M contract for 10 years, which will ensure better working capacity of the system.
What company bid? SPML Infra Chairman Subhash Sethi said, "Indore is one of the cleanest cities in India. This new water infrastructure will further enhance the quality of life of its residents." He further added, "The scope of this project is unique, placing SPML Infra among the few companies in the world capable of designing and delivering such an integrated water management system." Last month, the company won a ₹385 crore water works and supply system project in Kikri-Sarwar Sector Package-III, Ajmer, Rajasthan. Shares of SPML Infra closed 6% higher at ₹296.7 on Monday. The stock has gained 16% overall this year so far. The stock again rose more than 3% in early morning trade on Tuesday.
