News Topical, Digital Desk : Despite all the controversies, Vivek Agnihotri's film The Bengal Files has been released in theatres. Vivek made a film by raising a very serious issue but it almost failed to impress the audience the way it should. The film is currently struggling to attract audiences between The Conjuring and Baghi 4.

How much was the collection of the film?

According to Saknilk, the film had an opening of only 1.75 crores on the first day. However, the earnings picked up pace on the second day and the collection reached 2.15 crores. On the third day, the earnings were significantly affected due to the weekend and the collection reached 2.22 crores. In this way, the total collection of the film has reached Rs 6.12 crores.

How far behind is the film from The Kashmir Files?

If we compare this with the first day collection of Vivek's first film 'The Kashmir Files' which was released in 2022, then there is a huge difference in it too. Kashmir Files earned 3.55 crores on the first day. It remains to be seen whether The Bengal Files is able to earn well after its opening and show growth in the next few days or not? Vivek Agnihotri's film is often termed as propaganda.

What was the controversy regarding the film?

The film's release was marred by controversy, especially in West Bengal. Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri accused theatre owners of pressuring them not to screen the film. Producer Pallavi Joshi further fuelled the issue with an open letter to the President, alleging an informal ban on the film despite no formal objections from the censor board.

Which artists were seen?

Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi, Darshan Kumar and Simrat Kaur have played important roles in the film. Apart from them, Saswata Chatterjee, Namashi Chakraborty, Rajesh Khera, Puneet Issar, Priyanshu Chatterjee, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Saurav Das and Mohan Kapoor have also appeared in important roles.
