Along with incidents of waterlogging and dam breaking in many areas, incidents like collapse of walls of houses and office roofs have also been reported. In view of the danger, the district administration evacuated many dilapidated houses and shifted people to safer places.

According to the information, the biggest accident happened in Sector-62, where digging was being done for an affordable housing project. Due to continuous rain, the soil of the basement slipped and the wall of a house built near the construction site collapsed. The victim's family says that along with the wall collapse, a part of their house also collapsed. They informed the police about this, but due to no concrete action being taken, they had to spend the whole night on the roadside.

The roof of the office also collapsed in Sadar Bazar

The roof of a transport office in Sadar Bazar also collapsed due to rain. Fortunately, no one was present in the office at the time of the accident, due to which a major loss was averted. The transporter reached the spot and started the work of removing the debris. At the same time, the risk has increased due to a crack in the wall of a house in Maruti Kunj.

Half a dozen houses evacuated

The district administration evacuated many houses in Badshahpur and other sensitive areas for safety reasons. There was a possibility of these houses collapsing during the rains. Especially in Badshahpur, cracks had appeared in three buildings due to the digging done by a builder recently. They have been evacuated once again so that there is no loss of life.

Traffic affected due to falling of tree

Due to rain and strong winds, incidents of trees falling also took place at many places, due to which traffic was affected. The Municipal Corporation, Police and Traffic Department together removed the fallen trees from the roads and tried to smoothen the traffic. The district administration has appealed to the people not to stay in old or damaged houses during the rain and follow the warnings issued by the administration. At present, the situation is being constantly monitored and relief work is going on.
