News Topical, Digital Desk : Maharashtra ATS News: Action has been taken against an Indian youth who gave sensitive information to Pakistan Intelligence Operative (PIO) on social media. Based on the secret information received by Maharashtra ATS, an Indian youth has been arrested, who was allegedly in contact with Pakistan's intelligence agency Pakistan Intelligence Operative (PIO) and had shared sensitive and confidential information banned by the Government of India through social media.

Investigation revealed that this youth came in contact with a Pakistani intelligence agent through Facebook in November 2021. After this, between November 2021 and May 2023, he sent confidential and sensitive regional information through WhatsApp, which was banned by the Government of India.

A case has also been registered against two other people

A case has been registered against the suspect and two others who came in contact with him. The Thane ATS unit has registered a case against all of them under Section 3(1)(a), 5(1) of the Intelligence Act 1923 and Section 120(B) of the Indian Penal Code. The accused has been arrested and the terrorism angle is being investigated in detail.

The accused youth used to work for an important organization based in Mumbai

The Thane ATS unit succeeded in carrying out this mission on the basis of a confidential information. Giving information in this regard, an officer said that the accused worked for an important organization based in Mumbai and was trapped in a 'honeytrap' by a Pakistani agent. 

He further said that the Pakistani agent had befriended the accused on Facebook by posing as a woman and then kept on getting important information from him. However, the officer has not yet disclosed the name of the accused. The matter is being investigated seriously.
