How to make Sweet Potato Fries
- First, wash and peel the sweet potatoes thoroughly and cut them into long, french-fry-sized pieces. Soak the pieces in cold water for 10-15 minutes. (This step is crucial; it removes excess starch and makes the fries crispy.)
- After this, remove them from the water and wipe them thoroughly with a cloth or paper napkin. Place the fries in a large bowl and sprinkle cornflour, salt, black pepper, and red pepper over them. Mix them well so that the seasoning coats each piece.
- Then, heat oil in a pan. Make sure the oil is really hot. Fry the fries until golden brown and crispy. (If you're more health-conscious, you can also make these in an air fryer).
