This mythological film stars Yash, Sunny Deol, and Lara Dutta in pivotal roles. Now, according to recent reports, another South superstar may soon join the cast of "Ramayana."

This 'Vibhishana' can become a superstar

The actor director Nitesh Tiwari is planning to cast is none other than Vijay Sethupathi of "Gandhi Talks" and "Maharaja" fame. According to a Movie Singapore report, the makers want to cast him for the role of Ravana's younger brother, Vibhishana. In the Ramayana, Vibhishana was the one who always stood for truth and aided Lord Rama in the Dharma Yudh against Ravana.

According to reports, Nitesh Tiwari and the producers are currently in talks with Vijay Sethupathi. However, there has been no official confirmation yet. If South superstar Vijay Sethupathi comes on board, seeing him in the mythological film will be a treat for fans. 

Who will play what role in 'Ramayana'

Ranbir Kapoor plays Shri Ram and Sai Pallavi plays Sita in this big-budget film, set in 2026. Yash will also be seen playing Raavan, Sunny Deol as Mahabali Hanuman, Ravi Dubey as Laxman, Arun Govil as King Dasharatha, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha, Kajal Aggarwal as Mandodari, and Vikrant Massey as Meghnad.

"Ramayana" will be released in two parts. The first part will release this year on Diwali, while the second part is expected in 2027. According to reports, the film's budget is said to be around ₹835 crore. Significantly, "KGF" star Yash is not only an actor in this film, but also a co-producer. The music for "Ramayana Part 1" has been composed by A.R. Rahman. Recently, in an interview, he mentioned that he is paying special attention to Sanskrit shlokas and sacred hymns.
