The incident caused widespread panic in the area. The student has been identified as Ujjwal Rana. The student was admitted to a hospital for treatment, from where she was referred to a higher center. Her condition remains critical.
According to reports, a college student in the district's Budhana town set himself on fire on Saturday after allegedly being denied permission to take an exam due to non-payment of fees. Police said Ujjwal, who suffered 70 percent burns, was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Steps taken after not getting permission to appear in the examination
Police said he was later referred to a higher center for treatment, where his condition remains critical. According to police, Ujjwal Rana (22), a second-year BA student at DAV College in Budhana, allegedly attempted suicide by setting himself on fire after being upset over not being allowed to appear for exams due to non-payment of fees.
What did the police say?
Regarding this incident, the police officer said, "Acting on the information of suicide attempt by the college student, the Budhana police station took immediate action and sent the victim to the hospital for treatment. Currently he is out of danger, investigation is going on, strict legal action will be ensured against the culprits."
Principal accused of insulting students
According to the magazine's report, a video of the victim has surfaced in which he is heard telling people to "leave me alone. The principal mistreated me and insulted me." However, the college principal has completely denied the student's allegations. He stated that no student has been harassed. He also stated that all fee-related work is conducted in accordance with the rules.
