News Topical, Digital Desk : UP Politics: Samajwadi Party national president and former chief minister Akhilesh Yadav has once again launched a scathing attack on the BJP government over the law and order situation in the state. He said that Uttar Pradesh has now become a 'crime state'. Criminals are openly firing bullets and committing murders, but the government is remaining a mute spectator.
Akhilesh Yadav alleged that due to BJP's wrong policies and weak administration, anarchy has spread in the entire state. Even in places considered safe like the capital Lucknow, people are now living in the shadow of fear. He said that in Lucknow's Sarvodaya Nagar, a youth was chased and shot in broad daylight, in Para area, goons entered the office of a property dealer and beat him with sticks.
A woman was attacked in Malihabad only because she opposed the occupation of her house. A father and his two sons were brutally murdered with sharp weapons in Jaunpur's Zafarabad. Police constable Saurabh Deshwal, who had gone to raid in Noida, was shot dead by miscreants.
Akhilesh Yadav said that a girl student committed suicide in Saharanpur after being harassed. The atrocities being committed on girls every day show that the BJP government has completely failed on the issue of women's safety. He also said that what kind of government is this that is not able to give even a permanent DGP to the state?
Akhilesh said that "Incidents of murder, robbery and rape are happening every day in the state, but the Chief Minister is only talking about 'zero tolerance' in his speeches. The public is now tired of the promises and slogans of the BJP government."
If you have to jump out of an auto to save your honour...
It is worth noting that the BJP government has claimed to take a tough stand against crime since the beginning. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said many times that there is no place for crime and criminals in Uttar Pradesh. Encounter policy and anti-mafia action have been among the major strategies of the government.
But in recent months, the criminal incidents that have been continuously coming to light from Lucknow, Kanpur, Noida, Prayagraj and other cities have given the opposition an opportunity to attack the government. This statement of Akhilesh Yadav is also a part of this political attack, in which he has directly blamed the BJP for the deteriorating law and order situation.
The SP chief finally said that when girls have to jump from autos to save their honour and students start committing suicide due to harassment, then it becomes clear that the government has now completely failed in maintaining law and order.
