Sohum Shah's Tumbbad 2 finally gets its heroine; does this Bollywood actress join the horror thriller?

The film Tumbbad rests entirely on the shoulders of Soham Shah. He was the director of the first part. Now, apart from him, another big name may be seen in the second part of this franchise. Media reports are circulating that Soham has contacted a prominent actress for Tumbbad 2 (Tumbbad 2 Actress) to be a part of this movie. It is being claimed that this actress is none other than Queen fame actress Kangana Ranaut. 

Yes, reports are circulating that Kangana will be playing a key role in Tumbbad 2. However, this has yet to be officially confirmed. If this does indeed happen, watching Soham and Kangana pair up in a horror thriller will be a treat for cinephiles. Furthermore, information regarding the film's shooting has also been revealed.

It is reported that Soham Shah may begin shooting for Tumbbad in early 2026. In addition to starring as the lead actor, Soham will also be directing the film. It is also reported that Tumbbad 2 could be a big-budget film, estimated to cost 150 crore rupees.

Tumbbad has created history with its re-release.

Tumbbad was officially released in theaters in 2018. At that time, the movie was a flop, grossing around ₹7 crore (approximately $70 million) at the box office. However, upon its re-release in 2024, Tumbbad achieved a strong box office collection, grossing around ₹40 crore (approximately $400 million). It ranks among the top five highest-grossing Hindi films upon re-release.
