News Topical, Digital Desk : During the Lok Sabha debate on women's reservation, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, without naming Amethi MP and Union Minister Smriti Irani, took a dig at her, saying, "Your mother-in-law and daughter-in-law have lost." Smriti Irani responded to this with a poetic remark about her ex.

Smriti Irani wrote, “I heard Akhilesh remembered me in Parliament today. It's good that those who inherited politics also remember those who make a mark on their own. Those who have never held a job in their lives comment on working women. Instead of serials, focus on Parliament and pass important bills to empower women.”

What happened in the Parliament?

In fact, while speaking on women's reservation and delimitation in Parliament, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav said during the discussion, "If you reserve seats, there will be competition among women. Your mother-in-law-daughter-in-law relationship has been defeated." Akhilesh Yadav, without naming Smriti Irani, took a dig at her. He said that you will increase competition among women.

After losing from Amethi in 2024, Smriti Irani rarely appears at political events. However, she does frequently comment on the party's stance. Now, when Akhilesh Yadav taunted her, she responded in her own unique way.

It's worth noting that a three-day special session of Parliament has been called to address the women's reservation and delimitation bills. The opposition has questioned the government's intentions. Currently, arguments are ongoing between the two sides within the House. Overall, the government does not appear to be getting support from the opposition on this issue.
