
News Topical, Digital Desk : The Pul Prahladpur police of South-East Delhi has finally solved the murder of an unknown person on Surajkund Road. In this case, the police have arrested two accused, who have been identified as Gaurav alias Mulli and Venkatesh alias Raja. Both of them are residents of Madangir area.
The police have recovered from their possession the auto-rickshaw used to dispose of the body and the belt and plastic rod used for beating. The deceased person Rakesh (35 years) also lived in Madangir area and worked as a painter.
Information about the dead body was received from a PCR call
According to the information received from the police officer, Pul Prahladpur police received a PCR call on 11 July 2025 informing about a person lying dead. The caller, who sells bananas, informed the police that a person was lying unconscious in the Surajkund shooting range area. The police reached the spot, took the body in their custody and started investigation.
The inability to identify the deceased was proving to be a big challenge
According to the police, this case was completely blind. Neither the dead body could be identified nor any eyewitness was coming forward. But the police did not give up. To solve the mystery of this death, several teams were formed under the leadership of ACP Ram Phool Meena, including Inspector Manoj Kumar, Inspector Sunil Chandaulia, SI Shamsher, Havaldar Jitendra, constable Kishan and Navrang.
One accused arrested after getting clue from CCTV
The team scanned more than 500 CCTV footage. Apart from this, local people were questioned but still no concrete clue was found. On which the police started the process of identifying the deceased through finger prints and finally the police succeeded in identifying him. On this, the police raided Venkatesh's house, where an eyewitness Hrithik alias Cheeta told how Raja and Gaurav together beat Rakesh badly with belt, plastic rod and kicks and punches and then hit his head against the wall, due to which he died.
Suspicion of illicit relationship and money transaction became the reason for murder
During police interrogation, accused Venkatesh revealed that he suspected that Rakesh had an illicit relationship with his wife. He had lent money to Rakesh several times which he was not returning.
In this anger, he hatched a conspiracy to kill Rakesh and beat him to death. Ujne told that, after the murder, they used an auto-rickshaw to dispose of the body, which was later recovered along with the weapon used in the murder on the identification of the accused. Further investigation is going on in this case.
