News Topical, Digital Desk : A shocking incident has come to light from Shivmoga Central Jail. Here a prisoner swallowed a mobile phone, which was removed from his stomach after a surgery. According to information, the accused is serving sentence in Shivmoga Central Jail in a case of ganja smuggling. Recently, out of fear of getting caught, he swallowed the mobile phone. A few days ago, while complaining of stomach ache, he told that he has swallowed a piece of stone by mistake. However, after going to the hospital, it was discovered that there was a mobile in his stomach. Here the doctors removed the three inch long and one inch wide phone from his stomach through surgery.

The prisoner complained of stomach ache

In fact, a criminal case has been registered against the prisoner under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. The convicted 30-year-old Daulat alias Gundu is serving a 10-year sentence. The prisoner serving sentence in the Shivmoga Central Jail for ganja smuggling swallowed the mobile phone out of fear of getting caught. On June 24, 30-year-old prisoner Daulat alias Gundu complained of stomach ache to the jail staff. He told that he has accidentally swallowed a piece of stone. After this, he was taken to McGann Hospital.

Mobile was removed through surgery

During the examination, the doctors found an object in his stomach and recommended immediate surgery. During the surgery, the doctors found a mobile phone in his stomach, which was one inch wide and three inches long. After successfully removing the phone, the doctors handed it over to the jail administration. This action was completed on 8 July. At the same time, the Chief Superintendent of Jail P. Ranganath lodged a complaint against Daulat at Tunga Nagar Police Station. A case has been registered against the accused for bringing a banned item into the jail premises. It is worth noting that in June 2024, the Shivmoga District Court convicted Daulat in the drug smuggling case and sentenced him to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment.
